What customers say?

“ Sometimes you just wander around looking at all the fabulous restaurants and wonder why some get more business.than others. We wandered and saw this very friendly fellow that smiled at us and we knew we had to come back. We arrived at 5:39 and it shows on Google that he opens at 7:00. He is so sweet, he invited us in. These bowls of ramen were phenomenal. Rich miso broth with perfectly chewy noodles. Probably the best we've had in Ramen Alley and we've been here 3 times. If we were staying, we'd be back. ”

“ Really tasty miso ramen! The chef was extremely friendly and served us in some minutes after we seated. Initially I thought I wouldn’t like the butter but it added so much flavor! Would definitely recommend adding the extra green onions topping! ”

“ This was the best ramen I had in my 3 weeks in Japan. Truly incredible flavour in the corn and butter style. Rich, creamy broth and a generous helping of noodles. Single man operation, and there was a queue to get in (only 7 seats), but boy was it worth the wait! You order on a vending machine style machine which prints off a ticket and it’s cash only. The owner/chef was so friendly and welcoming and you can tell he really loved what he does. Would absolutely recommend this place. ”

“ I tried the Miso Butter Ramen here and it was honestly one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve ever had. The broth was rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with the butter, and the noodles had just the right texture. The shop itself is cozy and comfortable, making it a great spot to enjoy a hearty meal. Ordering is done through a vending machine, which makes the process very easy and convenient, even for first-timers. What really stood out, though, was the owner. He is the sole chef and staff, and despite being busy, he warmly guided us through the ordering process and made us feel very welcome. His friendliness added so much to the overall experience. If you’re visiting Ramen Alley in Sapporo, I highly recommend stopping by Ramen Gantetsu Yokocho. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back again! ”

“ I arrived at about 6.55pm on 16 Dec (Tuesday) and waited in line for 15-20 minutes. This glorious bowl of buttery corn miso ramen (¥1,200) looks delicious, and it tastes even more heavenly! The broth was very flavourful and rich, yet not cloying. I felt like I was enjoying an equivalent of a really high-quality cream of corn soup. The chashu had a good balance of lean meat and fats so it complements the ramen well. Suffice to say, the bowl was almost wiped clean! I am dreaming of the day I can come back and eat this again. ”

“ We were on the hunt for a solid Hokkaido butter ramen, and we ended up queuing at one of the highest-rated spots in Sapporo’s Ramen Alley. The line was honestly fine — fast, organized, and the staff were super clear with instructions. They were also really hospitable, which made the wait in the cold more bearable. (At least I wasn’t sweating in winter… small wins. ) When it was my turn, they sat me near the door. The shop is the classic “ramen box” setup — tight space, counter seating around the cooking area — so every time the door opened for the next customer, a blast of cold air hit hard. But once the ramen arrived, it didn’t matter. A hot bowl in Hokkaido weather fixes everything. I ordered the butter ramen with grilled pork and snow crab meat. The broth was rich and comforting, but surprisingly not overly salty despite the butter — which I appreciated, because some butter ramen can get heavy fast. The pork was juicy and tender, easy to chew, and easily the best part of the bowl. The snow crab was… fine. Not bad, just not particularly special. I’d rate it a 4/5. That said, you can tell the pricing and overall experience leans touristy. It was around 2,000 yen, and I’ve had better ramen in Sapporo for less. It didn’t feel like a place locals would line up for. Overall: a good bowl, worth trying if you’re in Ramen Alley and want butter ramen — but if you’re chasing the best ramen in Sapporo, I’d do a bit more research and hunt down a more local spot. ”

“ The ramen is delicious, the broth is rich and flavorful, though a bit salty. Sometimes there's a long queue because the shop is very small and there's only one chef. ”

“ We came to ramen alley wanting the full experience of some miso ramen and we found it here. After waiting for about 20min we greeted with amazing service and a delicious bowl of ramen. The shop owner is so kind and attentive to his clients. Highly recommend. ”
